Project
Kaen is a private reflection product spanning a native mobile app and an editorial website. It helps people make room around a difficult thought through short guided resets, then keeps the useful result in a searchable local-first journal without feeds, streaks, accounts, or subscription pressure.
What I worked on
I designed and built Kaen end to end across product strategy, brand, the native Kotlin and Jetpack Compose Android app, the original Expo and React Native app, the Next.js website, local-first data architecture, store assets, release preparation, and deployment.
- Built guided reset flows, a private journal, search, pins, trends, next steps, cues, and local reminders.
- Designed local-first persistence with portable import and export plus optional user-controlled cloud-folder sync.
- Created the responsive website, editorial journal, privacy and product pages, and app download experience.
- Implemented cross-platform theming, alternate app icons, premium Kaen Ember features, and App Store and Google Play assets.
